Oppikoppie:Hair

At festivals you really want fuss free hair that will look good all day long.
There is no electricity at Oppikoppie so say goodbye to any straighteners or curlers. You will have to rock the natural hair you've been given. Also bear in mind trying to shower is a complete nightmare and almost impossible (unless you enjoy really cold communal showers which you wait hours for) so be ready to embrace messy dirty hair.
Messy dirty hair usually make the best braids and now you have an excuse to wear super cool hats or flower crowns.
This year i am def going to try out hair chalk.

Pink heels

Coat:Woolworths ,Sweater:Woolworths ,Jeggings:Zara ,Heels:Mr Price ,Bag:Aldo

When we moved houses I came across these bright pink Mr Price heels that I had completely forgotten about. It’s like finding that R100 in an old bag you haven’t used in a while.
I LOVE these shoes; they are one of the most comfortable pair I own. Granted they aren’t sky high, but not all heels have to be ankle twisting height.

Winter brights:Two ways

Jacket:YDE ,Sweater:Mr Price ,Leggings:Topshop ,Heels:Aldo

Blazer:YDE ,Sweater:Zara ,Leather jeans :Cotton on ,Heels:Aldo

When I think of winter fashion, I think of simple basic colors black, white, grey.
So it’s nice to sometimes rock a bright pink sweater to brighten up an already gloomy cold day.

I thought I would show you how to wear colour two ways and instead of only showing you my take on it, I thought I would show someone else’s take on it too.

Introducing Charne... a.k.a my sister, a.k.a the coolest chick I know, a.k.a the prettiest girl who can seriously pull the funniest faces (yes this fact is true)
I love her style as she is more daring and edgier than myself.(which you will see in more posts going forward)

Believe me when I say this girl has a collection of shoes, and I mean a collection!
So she decided to brighten her outfit with shoes.

I on the other hand went for a bright pink sweater.

This year is their 20th year and it is going to be HUGE.
The festival is held annually in Limpopo Northam on 7, 8 & 9th Aug.

Following up to the festival I will share fashion inspiration, hair ideas and general tips on the whole thang.

Chocolate Brownies

I am most certainly a chocolate person. I would have chocolate for breakfast if I could (thank goodness this is unacceptable) the other day I had a major sweet tooth so I thought id whip up a batch of chocolate brownies.
These are so insanely good,my sister came over yesterday and finished 3 in one go.
I used this Jamie Oliver recipe and changed it slightly.

Ingredients:
250 g butter
1 normal slab of dark chocolate
1 normal slab of white chocolate
Handful of nuts (I used walnuts)
80 g cocoa powder
65 g plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
300 g caster sugar
4 large eggs

Method:

  1.     Pre heat oven to 180 c and line a 24 cm baking tin with grease proof paper.
  2.       Melt the butter and dark chocolate in the microwave, mixing often until smooth and lump free.
  3.      Add your nuts into melted chocolate
  4.       In a separate bowl mix together: flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and sugar. Then add to chocolate mixture. Stir together well.
  5.     Beat all four eggs then add to mixture and beat with hand blender until you have a silky consistency.
  6.       Break white chocolate slab into pieces and mix into batter. I kept a small amount of dark chocolate from first slab to add into this too.
  7.      Pour brownie mix into tray and place in the oven for 25 min,I had to leave it in for 35 min and it still had a soft centre.
  8.     Wait to cool and then enjoy!
